Meet the founder!

Welcome to the Dig Design 1968. I’m Marcia, a Midwesterner at heart with a California soul, as far back as I can remember I was a dreamer. I grew up in the 70s & 80s on rock n roll, church, sports & a big crazy family. I wore my older brother’ tees & hand me downs from my sister. As a kid in the 80s, I wanted a Ralph Lauren Polo shirt, my dad would joke, “you give me the $50 bucks, I will sew a horse on it.” Dig stands for, “Different is Good” originally, I ran Dig Outdoor Adventure (for kids in the summer) turned into Dig Designs 1968 landing where I am today here with you. The Dig Design community are mavericks’, risk takers, givers and soulful special individuals. By supporting Dig, you further the work of creative makers in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Our Process

DiG style is made for everyone, my style is unisex. Each piece tells a story, much like listening to a song it’s a feeling you get. The process starts with an email & a quick conversation to put your Dig hat in the ring. This is the fun part we connect usually by email or phone what you are looking for? I ask lots of questions about what your likes and dislikes are. The details include your coat, my coat, my blazer, your blazer, my fabric, your fabric? What do you like on my Instagram? Is your Dig piece time sensitive? Are there any special requests? I am literally creating in my head your piece as we speak, I story board fabrics and send you a mock-up or we FaceTime to ensure you are happy with the placement of each detail. You say yes, I move ahead and rock your world.

    If you see something you like that is out of stock let us know via Instagram or text and we can work with you to create a similar piece!

    We are constantly showing new designs on our Instagram. If you see something you like, message us to claim it!

    If you want something custom, please head to the custom section of our website and fill out a request.

  • This is a very personal business, I will make sure to work with you to make sure the fit is right before it ships. Our ordering process is formulated so that you shouldn’t have to return anything!

  • I am a super shopper! I’m a thrifter, I say yes to hand-me-downs, I take clothes and give them new life. Our goal is to reduce, reuse, repurpose what is already out there to cut down on clothing waste.

  • If you see a piece on our website, we will work with you to get to the design you want! Every piece is one of a kind, and we can add fabric, patches, details that you request. We are here to make this the perfect piece for you!

  • We cannot wholesale at this time. We are small and growing. Everything is made in the USA, hand sewn and designed by Marmi. She obsesses about each detail to ensure the style and experience matches you.

  • If the piece is in stock, you can expect the piece to ship within a week or two.

    We are on the road doing pop up shops often, and we make sure that each order is received in a reasonable time frame depending on our schedule.
